Jordi Riera Baró, the second generation of Rieju and a benchmark in the Motorcycle sector in Spain, dies at 84.

Monday, April 12, 2021 Rieju regrets to announce the death of Jordi Riera Baró, the second generation of Rieju and a benchmark in the Motorcycle sector in Spain. Riera died today in Figueres at the age of 84.

Jordi Riera Baró joined his father's company professionally in the summer of 68: “Together we started the long journey again, selling our product to countries that I visited as a young man. It has been decades of work, of constant changes and of adapting to different situations, together with a team of collaborators with whom we have made possible the dream of my father, ideologist and founder of what is today our small great company that it is. Riera managed to position the company as the leader in Europe in the gear change moped segment, achieving its greatest geographic expansion in the early 2000s, reaching more than 35 countries. Jordi Riera Tarrés, son of Jordi Riera Baró, current president of Rieju, has assured that: “My father has shown great attachment and love for the company until his last days, coming almost weekly to his office to be close to the one he has been his family for almost 70 years "
